What clearing an estate property actually looks like
As you would be aware, every estate, like every person, is different. Yes, there are legal processes that must be adhered too & similarities between estates, however, we’re fully aware that we’re usually meeting executors and family members during extremely difficult times and an individualised approach is required.
That said, we are extremely process driven when clearing an estate. Our process flow looks something like this:
- An executor or family member will contact us for assistance. Usually, they’re overwhelmed with what has to happen. They could be working full time themselves, living in different parts of the State (or world) and don’t know how they are going to get things done.
- We find out what needs to be done. This could be accessing the deceased’s property to search for documents, clearing an estate property to enable a sale or any other variety of actions.
- We make sure the property is secured – that all windows and doors close and lock properly.
- We systematically work through the home, sorting and purging as directed by the executor or solicitor.
- We organise cleaners, disposal of property, distribution of items to beneficiaries.
We really are all about making difficult times easier to navigate.
